Another major part of my home is my closet ... 4 of my favorite vintage pieces. The Gold Silk I picked up a small consignment shop for a little more than a song, my original thoughts were to use the fabric for pillows since it was heavy soiled . A good cleaning and other than some minor wear to the frogs it is exceptionally beautiful. The red was a gift from Sonja, a friend forever . The black silk is handpainted with a full landscape picture.

This Jacket vintage 50's and made in Hawaii

This is a barristers bookcase I recently refinished. A lot of lemon oil and at the moment it is up to 6 coats of tung oil and will recieve another 4 or more before being completely finished. The tags inside read " The Globe Werike Co Std. Office & Library Furishings , London The glasses on the top have a very delicate bamboo design and are from a company called Radio Brand and made in Japan. They were found at an old shop that was closing down and still have the original tags on the bottom.

This small end table was given to me and refinished, the top was originally all inlay, but beyond repair. There is now a fitted leather top for it. The picture on the top sits under glass and can be changed. It's also a great place to slip phone #'s which I have a tendency to loose before they make it to the address book

Think back in time to when Britanica was a set of printed books , go back a little further to a time when they also gave you the book case to keep them in. This piece was also a gift from a friend , some sanding , replacing the back which was warped and some new stain and half dozen coats of tung oil makes this a wonderful " near the kitchen storage for cook books"

A walk out the back will almost always bring in a few fresh flowers

Outside is expanding slowly with Banana Trees , Umbrella plants, canas, a peach tree , lambs ear, hostas, gerber daisies , castor beans, herbs ... , many of the plants that lived on the old patio are now at home in the ground where they are flourishing come on out to the garden
